I began taking
pictures in a intense and casual manner at around 1987.
I was mad on it for the next few years, to the extent of building my own
dark room and even attempting to 'be' a 'freelance photographer' for a
few months in 1990.
This passion for this medium eased off soon after when I began to peruse
music more seriously.
I kind of forgot all about it from about 1992 onwards although I have
recently and very slowly started to become interested again.
In looking at some of these pictures once more, I'm struck at how well
they capture the atmosphere of Cardiff in the late eighties-as it was
for me and my then friends. A strangely expansive and yet insular world,
sepia-toned and colourful at the same time.
